Fabrizio Baroni speaks at the event “The Role of the CFO in Private Capital Projects”

On 12 November, PwC Italy hosted in Rome the event “The Role of the CFO in Private Capital Projects: Economic Context, Expectations and Challenges”, organised in collaboration with Villa & Partners Human Capital Solutions. The session explored how the CFO function is evolving within Private Equity- and Venture Capital-backed environments, at a time marked by market uncertainty and increasingly complex transactions.

Drawing on first-hand insights from companies, industry associations and investment funds, the discussion examined the strategic role of the CFO in value creation, the key skills and responsibilities required, and the mutual expectations that shape the dialogue between management teams and investors.

Fabrizio Baroni, Managing Partner at B4 Investimenti, spoke in the roundtable dedicated to the strategic levers that can strengthen collaboration between funds and finance functions, offering an “inside perspective” on the dynamics that characterise Private Equity–backed projects and on the CFO’s contribution to the growth and transformation journeys of portfolio companies.

The event provided an updated view of the challenges and opportunities currently defining the relationship between CFOs and investors, reaffirming the central role of this function in value-creation processes.
